A recent study from the National Laboratory of Medical Molecular Biology, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China shows that “Repression of P66Shc expression by Sirtuin-1 contributes to the prevention of hyperglycemia-induced endothelial dysfunction.”

This study was published in the September 2 Circulation Research by Prof Liang CC, Zhou C and others the National Laboratory of Medical Molecular Biology, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China.

On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan PhD, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports that: Insights into protecting the age-associated Endothelial dysfunction: Snail/SNAI1 protects against hyperglycemia-induced endothelial dysfunction via up regulation of its target gene. This study suggests that Snail/SNAI1, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may alleviate the hyperglycemia-induced endothelial dysfunctionTogether, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing” Snail/SNAI1 activators” may be used to treat hyperglycemia-induced endothelial dysfunction.
