Significance: This study suggests that Neurotensin, by downregulating its target gene, it may increase the expression of longevity-associated gene Sirtuin-1. Thus, pharmacological forumulations encompassing “Neurotensin activators” may  (1) decrease ageing process; (2) inhibit metabolic syndrome; (3) and increase life expectancy of an individual.
