Significance: This study suggests that C/EBPα, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease HDL-C levels. Thereby, it may increases the chances of developing cardiovascular disorders. Thus, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “C/EBPα  inhibitors may be used to increase HDL-C levels.
