Significance: This study suggests that pro-apoptotic isoforms of p53, by increasing the expression of their target miRNA, they decrease the expression of  oncogene Receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility (RHAMM)/Hyaluronan-mediated motility receptor (HMMR). Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing p53 activators may be used to inhibit tumorigenesis and metastasis.
