Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that massage (moderate pressure–pressure receptor-mechanotransduction), by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may attenuate inflammatory signalling, while increase the expression of growth hormone (GH). Given this, physicians may consider recommending growth-retarded children to undergo massage therapy.
