Significance: Increased expression of Dicer1 has been shown to inhibit metastasis. In addition, it has been shown to play a role in a number of physiological processes. This study suggests, for the first time, that IL-17, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of Dicer1. Thereby, it may increase the processing of siRNAs, miRNAs in cells etc. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “IL-17 activators  may be used to increase the expression of Dicer1.
