CitationBoominathan, Natural product-based therapy for Metastatic tumors: Hesperitin, a natural compound isolated from citrus fruits, suppresses the expression of PD-1, a suppressor of activation of T-cells, and activates the immune system via down regulation of its target gene, 18/February/2015, 20.38, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org

Significance: This study suggests that Hesperitin, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of PD-1.  Thereby, it may activate the immune system that inhibit tumor development. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Hesperitin or its analogues  may be used to inhibit the progression of tumors.
