Citation: Boominathan, L., Molecular therapy for Myocardial ischemia after myocardial infarction: Proto-oncogene c-Myc inhibits cardiac ischemia via up regulation of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2), 26/March/2015, 22.49, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: The study presented here suggests that c-Myc, by decreasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2). Thereby, it may inhibit Myocardial ischemia. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “c-Myc activators” may be used to inhibit myocardial ischemia after myocardial infarction.
Undisclosed information: How c-Myc increases the expression of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2)
