Significance: The study presented here suggests that c-Myc, by decreasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2). Thereby, it may inhibit Myocardial ischemia. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “c-Myc activators” may be used to inhibit myocardial ischemia after myocardial infarction.
