Significance: Uncontrolled/excessive inflammation is the principle cause of tissue damage during sepsis. This study suggests, for the first time, that Piceatannol, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit the inflammasome activation pathway. Thereby, it may decrease acute lung inflammation during sepsis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Piceatannol or its analogues” may be used to treat acute lung inflammation during Sepsis.
