On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan PhD, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports that: Exercise training ameliorates T2DM & extends lifespan: Exercise training increases UCP protein expression, energy expenditure, glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity, cold exposure tolerance and extends lifespan via up regulation of its target gene.

Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Exercise, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may (1) decrease diet-induced obesity; (2) increase UCP protein expression;(3) increae energy expenditure; (4) increase cold tolerance; (5) increase glucose tolerance; (6) increase insulin sensitivity; and (7) extend lifespan.  Thus, Exercise training may ameliorate T2DM, promote lean mass, increase tolerance to cold exposure, and extend life span of an individualBased on this finding, Physicians may recommend Exercise training therapy for patients suffering from metabolic diseases, including T2DM and obesity.

Undisclosed information: How Exercise training increases UCP protein expression, energy expenditure, glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity and promotes longer lifespan
