Citation: Boominathan, Mechanistic insight into tumorigenesis: Apolipoprotein E (apoE) decreases the expression of tumor suppressor PTEN via up regulation of its target gene, 28/April/2015, 23.07, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Apolipoprotein E (apoE), by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of PTEN. Thereby, it may promote tumorigensis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Apolipoprotein E (apoE) inhibitors” can be used to inhibit tumor progresssion.
