Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Curcumin, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit acute lung injury. Thereby, it may inhibit the progression of acute respiratory distress syndrome.  Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Curcumin or its activators”  may be used to inhibit the progression of acute respiratory distress syndrome.
