Significance: This study suggests a vitamin-based Life-extension therapy. It has been shown earlier that Klotho: (1) extends the lifespan of mice by about 19-31%; and (2) increases cognition. α-Tocotrienol, by decreasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of longevity-promoting and anti-aging gene Klotho. Thereby, it may extend the lifespan of mammals. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “α-Tocotrienol or its analogues” may be used to extend the lifespan of individuals.
