Significance: 

This suggests, for the first time, that Baicalein, an active component of Scutellaria baicalensis G.,  by increasing the expression of its target gene ABCA1, it may increase the level of High-Density lipoproteins.  Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing               Baicalein or its analogues may be used to treat disorders associated with lipid metabolism.
