Citation: Boominathan, Regenerative therapy for DM: MiRNA-205 increases insulin-secreting cell mass and function via down regulation of its target genes, 17/May/2015, 23.23, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that MiRNA-205, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase insulin-secreting cell mass and function. Thereby, it may increase the insulin sensitivity of cellular tissues. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-205 activators” can be used to treat DM.
