Citation: Boominathan, L., Anti-metastasis therapy: MiRNA-3686 suppresses the expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and MMP-9 via down regulation of its target gene, 21/June/2015, 10.53 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: The study presented here suggests that MiRNA-3686, by decreasing the expression of its target genes, it may decrease the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9. Thereby, it may inhibit migration and invasion of metastatic cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-3686 activators” may be used to inhibit the progression of invasive tumors.
