The study presented here suggests that (6)-gingerol (6G), by increasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 3 (TIMP3). Thereby, it may inhibit migration, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “(6)-gingerol (6G) or its analogues” may be used to inhibit the progression of invasive tumors.
