Citation: Boominathan, Consume chocolates to protect yourself from Cerebral ischemia: Theobromine, a compound derived from theobroma and commonly found in chocolates, increases cerebral blood flow and inhibits cerebral ischemia via up regulation of its target gene, 08/February/2016, 14.40, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests that Theobromine, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may preserve cerebral blood flow. Thereby, it may inhibit the development of cerebral ischemia. Thus, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “Theobromine or its analogues“ may be used to inhibit cerebral ischemia.
