Citation: Boominathan, Mechanistic insight into tumorigenesis: IL-17 increases the expression of Bcl2, a positive regulator of survival, via down regulation of its target gene, 11/February/2015, 22.15, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests that IL-17, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of Bcl2. Thereby, it may promote survival of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “IL-17 inhibitors“ may be used to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells.
