Significance: It has been shown earlier that angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R) antagonist prolongs mammalian life span. This study suggests, for the first time, that Isoflavones/Phytoestrogens, by increasing the expression of their target gene,  they may suppress the expression of AT1R. And thereby, they may (1) decrease blood pressure; and (2) and extend the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing Isoflavones or its analogues” may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.

Undisclosed information: How Isoflavones suppresses the expression of  angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R)
