Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Green tomato extract, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease food intake and body weight. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Green tomato extract or small molecule compounds isolated from it” may be used to decrease body weight.
