A recent study from the Epithelial Pathobiology and Mucosal Inflammation Research Unit, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, USA shows that “Annexin A1–containing extracellular vesicles and polymeric nanoparticles promote epithelial wound repair.” This study was published in the 9 February 2015 issue of Journal of Clinical Investigation by Prof Asma Nusrat, Dr. Giovanna Leoni, and others.
On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan PhD, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports that: AntagomiR-based theapy for wound repair: AntagomiR-196 promotes epithelial wound repair via regulation of its target gene. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “AntagomiR-196 or inhibitors of miR-196” may be used to promote wound repair.
