Significance:    This study suggests, for the first time, that  MiRNA-134, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase insulin-secreting cell mass. Thereby, it may increase the insulin sensitivity.  Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing AntagomiR-134 or miR-134 inhibitor”  may be used to treat DM.
