Significance: This study suggests that p63, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP2). Furthermore, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “p63 activator” may inhibit prostate cancer metastasis.
