Citation: Boominathan, L., Anti-metastasis therapy: Calcitriol (1α, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3) increases the expression of TPM1 (tropomyosin) and inhibits migration and invasion of metastatic cancer cells via down regulation of its target gene, 10/April/2015, 7.20 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: The study presented here suggests that Calcitriol, by increasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of TPM1 (tropomyosin). Thereby, it may inhibit migration and invasion of metastatic cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing ” Calcitriol or its analogues” may be used to inhibit the progression of invasive tumors.
