A study from the Key Laboratory of Animal Epidemiology and Zoonosis of Ministry of Agriculture, College of Veterinary Medicine and State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology, China Agricultural University, Beijing 100193, China; and CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China shows that “Cellular microRNA miR-26a suppresses replication of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus by activating innate antiviral immunity.” This study was published in the 27 May 2009 issue of the journal “Sci Reports“ by Prof. Liu W, Jia X and others.

Significance: Menin, by increasing the expression of their target gene, it may suppresses porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus infection. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Menin or its activators” may be used to treat porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus infection.
