Citation: Boominathan, L., Becoming Centenarians: a myth or reality: The curcumin analogue EF24 may increase longevity via up regulation of autophagy enhancer Beclin-1, 4/November/2014, 21.00, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests that EF24, by increasing the expression of autophagy enhancer Beclin-1, it may increase longevity. Together, this study provides, for the first time, insights into how one can increase the expression of a bio-marker of healthy exceptional longevity. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “EF24 or its analogues” may be used to increase the life expectancy.
Undisclosed information: A mechanistic insight into how EF24 increases the expression of Beclin-1 and longevity.
