Significance:  This study suggests, for the first time, Interleukin-37 (IL-37), by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of tumor suppressor Interleukin-1β (IL1β). Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “IL-37 or its activators”  can be used to inhibit the progression of human tumors.
