Significance:  This study suggests, for the first time, Interleukin-37 (IL-37), by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may suppress the expression of stem cell protein Oct-4. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “IL-37 or its activators”  can be used to inhibit cancer stem cell proliferation.
