Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that IL-17, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit cerebral ischemia induced injury. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “IL-17 activators“ may be used to inhibit cerebral ischemia induced injury.
