Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that massage (moderate pressure–pressure receptor-mechanotransduction), by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may attenuate inflammatory signalling and increase the expression of tumor suppressor Sprouty2. Given the mechanistic basis, Physicians may consider recommending massage therapy to cancer patients.
