Significance: This study suggests that Oct-4, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of tumor suppressor p53 homologue p73. Thereby, it may function as a tumorigenesis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Oct-4 or its inhibitor” may be used to inhibit tumor progression.
