  • A study from the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Biology, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China; University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China etc., has reported that Atg7 is required for acrosome biogenesis during spermatogenesis in mice.

  • This study was published in the 23 May 2014 Cell Reports by Prof. Li W and Wang H, and others from the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Biology, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China;  University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China etc..

  • On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports here that:  Mechanistic and Therapeutic insights into the treatment of Globozoospermia: MiRNA-290-295 cluster regulates Acrosome biogenesis during SpermatogenesisThis study suggests that MiRNA-290-295, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it could regulate Acrosome biogenesis during Spermatogenesis.  Taken together, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations containing “MiRNA-290-295 regulator” can be used to treat Globozoospermia.
