Citation: Boominathan, Mechanistic insight into Metastatic suppression: BMP-6 suppresses the expression of VEGFα, an activator of angiogeneis, via up regulation of its target gene, 11/February/2015, 22.25, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that BMP-6, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of VEGFα. Thereby, it may inhibit metastasis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “BMP-6 or its activators” can be used to inhibit the progression of human tumors.
