Citation: Boominathan, Mechanistic insight into Regulation of Ribosome biogenesis: Resistin suppresses the expression of RNA polymerase I via down regulation of its target gene, 23/February/2015, 22.36, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Resistin, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of RNA polymerase I. Thereby, it may inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Resistin activators” can be used to inhibit the progression of human cancers.
