Citation: Boominathan, Mechanistic insight into tumorigenesis: Apolipoprotein E (apoE) increases the expression of immortality gene telomerase via up regulation of its target gene, 29/April/2015, 21.49, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Apolipoprotein E (apoE), by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of immortality gene telomerase. Thereby, it may promote tumorigensis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Apolipoprotein E (apoE) inhibitors” may be used to inhibit tumor progresssion.
