Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that NUR77, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of c-Myc. Thereby, it may decrease (1) the expression of tumor suppressor p53; and (2) promote tumorigensis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “NUR77 inhibitors” can be used to inhibit tumor progresssion.
