A study from the Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences, University of Milano-Bicocca, Milano, Italy has reported that “Hippocampal development and neural stem cell maintenance require Sox2-dependent regulation of Shh.”

This study was published in the 12 Oct 2009 Nat Neuroscience (IF: 15.251) by Prof. NicolisFavaro R and others from Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences, University of Milano-Bicocca, Milano, Italy

On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports here that: Mechanistic insights into Dentate gyrus hypoplasia:  Fisetin, a natural compound isolated from strawberries, regulates hippocampal development and neural stem cell maintenance via down regulation of its target gene
