Significance: This study suggests that  SMAD7, by decreasing the expression of its target miRNA, it may increase the expression of TPM1.  Thereby, it may inhibit invasion and metastatic property of tumor cells.  Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “SMAD7 activators” may used to treat metastatic cancers.
