CitationBoominathan, Mechanistic into tumorigenesis: p-ΔNp63α increases the expression of HOXA11 and decreases the expression of tumor suppressor p53 via down regulation of its target gene, 15/February/20145, 20.13, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org

Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that p-ΔNp63α, by decreasing the expression of  its target genes, it may increase the expression of the negative regulator of tumor suppressor p53, HOXA11. Thereby it may inhibit the expression of p53. Furthermore, this study suggests that ΔNp63α not only suppresses the function of p53 through protein-protein interaction, but also it suppresses the expression of p53 by increasing the expression of its negative regulator. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “p-ΔNp63α inhibitor”  can be used to inhibit the progression of human cancer.
