Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that tumor suppressor MiRNA-141, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit the expression of L1CAM. Thereby, it may inhibit the migration and invasion of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-141 activators” can be used to inhibit metastatic human tumors.
