Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that tumor suppressor MiRNAs-15a and -16, by decreasing the expression of  their target genes, they may inhibit the expression of L1CAM. Thereby, they may inhibit the migration and invasion of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-15/16 activators”  can be used to inhibit metastatic human tumors
