Significance: It has recently been shown that MiRNA-146b-5p functions as a tumor- and metastasis suppressor. This study suggests that MiRNA-146-5p, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of p53 and p73. Thus, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-146-5p or its activators” may be used to treat human cancers.
