Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that p63, by increasing the expression of its target gene miRNA-130, it may suppress the expression of mTOR. Thereby, it may increase the lifespan of an individual, as it has been shown earlier that decreasing the expression of mTOR increases overall lifespan. Together, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “p63 or its activators or miRNA-130 or its activators” may function as longevity promoters.
