Significance: It has been shown earlier that angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R) antagonist prolongs mammalian life span. This study suggests, for the first time, that RNF2 (ring finger protein 2) , by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may suppress the expression of AT1R. And, thereby, it may (1) decrease blood pressure; and (2) and extend the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “RNF2 (ring finger protein 2) activators“ may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.
Undisclosed information: How RNF2 (ring finger protein 2) suppresses the expression of angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R)
