Citation: Boominathan, MiRNA-based Regenerative therapy for DM: MiRNA-29c increases insulin-secreting cell mass and function via up regulation of its target genes, 31/October/2014, 7.00 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that MiRNA-29c, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase insulin-secreting cell mass and function. Thereby, it may increase the insulin sensitivity of cellular tissues. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-29c or its activators” can be used to treat DM.
