Significance: This study suggests that MIRNA-134 inhibits the expression of immortality gene telomerase. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MIRNA-134 or MiRNA-134 activators” may be used to inhibit cancer progression. Further, pharmacological formulations encompassing “AntagomiR-134 or MiRNA-134 inhibitors” may be used to (1) deaccelerate ageing/senescence process; and (2) increase the longevity of an individual.
