Significance: This study suggests that MIRNA-134 increases the expression of tumor suppressor INK4a/p16. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MIRNA-134 or MiRNA-134 activators” may be used to inhibit cancer progression. Further, pharmacological formulations encompassing “AntagomiR-134 or MiRNA-134 inhibitors” may be used to deaccelerate ageing/senescence process.
