Significance: This study suggests that tumor suppressor MiRNA-92, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of guardian of the genome p53; and decrease the expression of immortality gene telomerase. Given that p53 is the most mutated tumor suppressor gene in human cancer, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-92 or its activators“ may be used to eliminate CML leukemia stem cells.
