A study from Watson School of Biological Sciences shows that SRSF1 is a critical transcriptional target of c-MYC.  This study was published in the Feb 20, 2012 Cell  Rep by Prof. Dr Krainer AR & Das, Watson School of Biological Sciences, USA.

On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports here that: MiRNA-based therapy for human cancers:  The reprogramming protein Oct-4 increases the expression of SRSF1 via up regulation of its target gene. This data suggest that Oct-4, by increasing the expression of SRSF1, it will increase the expression of a number of oncogenic mRNAs in cancer cells.
